This is a very sought-after fossil. It is a Mesolimulus walchi horseshoe crab from the famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. Horseshoe crabs and dragonflies are probably the most demanded fossils from this site. This specimen is complete and has good color and contrast. The crab is inflated and has nice detail. The arthropod is nicely centered on the large, natural-edged plate of lithographic limestone. This is a very recognizable fossil from the "Age of the Dinosaurs".
