This is a fine fossil cone. It is a distinct specimen of Araucaria mirabilis from the Jurassic of Argentina. This fossil cone is quite large and nicely inflated. The cone exhibits exquisite detail. The stem and attachment point are easily seen, and the individual cone scales are very distinct and beautifully displayed (somewhat weathered on the back side). This is a very nice Araucaria cone from Patagonia.

NOTE: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was collected and exported prior to this law, and can be sold legally.
