Here is a very large fossil shark tooth from South Carolina. This is a fine Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Miocene River Deposits. This tooth is quite wide and has the classic arrowhead shape. The root is very solid and substantial, and the sharp serrations and tip are intact and beautifully displayed. The glossy enamel is well preserved, and the bluish-grey tint is quite striking. The other side of the tooth is also in wonderfully preserved, as seen in the photo. This is a fabulous example of a large tooth from this extinct giant white shark.
