This is a very distinct pair of fossil leaves. These are Viburnum asperum (left) and Celtis aspera (Hackberry) leaves from a new find in the Paleocene of Montana. Both leaves are extremely detailed - the venation is clearly seen. The natural color makes for a striking display. The beautiful leaves are well showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very fine pair of fossil leaves from an unusual location in Montana.
