Here is a nice example of a paracrinoid. This is Oklahomacystis tribrachiatus from the Ordovician of Oklahoma. The paracrinoid has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be studied from all angles. This primitive echinoderm is very 3-dimensional and exhibits great detail. It has extremely ornamented plates that are very nicely articulated. This is a great example of this bizarre Ordovician echinoderm.
