This is a very large and colorful pair of fossil leaves. It is a wonderful Carya antiquorum (Hickory) Leaf (left) and a large Unidentified Leaf from a new find in the Paleocene of Montana. This Hickory leaf is quite large - over FIVE INCHES LONG! The leaves have great detail preserved - the reticulation and venation are clearly seen. The fabulous color makes for a striking display. The beautiful leaves are well showcased on the large. semi-squared plate of shale. This is a very nice pair of leaves from an unusual location in Montana.
