This is a very nice brachiopod from an unusual location. It is a Cyrtospirifer rukinensis from the Devonian of Russia. This brachiopod is totally free of matrix and can be seen from all angles. It is extremely 3-dimensional and has excellent color. Both valves of the brachiopod are intact and tightly articulated. The brachiopod exhibits fine detail - the ornamentation of the winged lamp shell is easily seen. This is a very attractive brachiopod from an exotic location.
