This is a very large fossil leaf. It is a wonderful Carya antiquorum (Hickory) Leaf from a new find in the Paleocene of Montana. This specimen is extremely large - almost six inches long! The leaf has great detail preserved - the reticulation and venation are clearly seen. The fabulous color makes for a striking display. The beautiful leaf is well showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very large fossil Hickory leaf from an unusual location in Montana.
