This is a HUGE fossil shrimp from the Jurassic of Germany. It is Antrimpos sp. from the famous Solnhofen Lithographic Limestone. This shrimp is massive - over 8 inches along the curve! The arthropod has excellent detail - the head, the segmented carapace, the legs, and even the tail are wonderfully displayed. The fossil has great dark color and strong contrast and is nicely centered on the natural-edged plate of limestone that also has a few free-floating crinoids preserved. This is a very distinct example of this classic fossil crustacean from a world-famous locality.
