This is an absolutely fabulous fossilized shark tooth. It is a very large Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth from RIVER DEPOSITS in North Carolina, not the Lee Creek Mine. Megalodon teeth from Lee Creek are very scarce, to say the least, but ones from the River Deposits of this size and quality are almost never found. The overall quality of this tooth is top notch. The very tip is intact and easily seen, and the serrations are large and razor-sharp. In other words, the serrations and tip of this tooth are as good as they get from this site! The root is very solid and robust, and is extemely thick and 3-dimensionally preserved. The gorgeous mahogany coloration of the enamel is wonderfully displayed - it is simply beautiful! This is an extremely collectible fossil Meg tooth from North Carolina, and not from the Lee Creek Mine!
