This is a very nice specimen of Lyriocrinus from the Rochester Shale of New York. The large crinoid has great plate structure. The biserial arms are sort of curled in at the top to create a beautiful display. Many of the tiny plates of the arms are exhibited, which is unusual for this type. The sea lily has a long, articulated stem attached to the crown. The crinoid is very 3-dimensional, has great color and contrast, and is well showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very nice specimen of a large Lyriocrinus mellisa from New York
