This is a very nice example of a free-floating crinoid. This is Saccocoma pectinata from the world-famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. The crinoid exhibits the small cup and many sinuous, pinnulated arms in beautiful fashion. This comatulid crinoid has been darkened to make for a better display and is wonderfully presented on the semi-squared plate of lithographic limestone. This is a very aesthetic example of this stemless crinoid from the Jurassic Sea.
