This is a highly collectible meteorite. It is a specimen of Northwest Africa 1068, a famous meteorite from Mars. NWA 1068 was found in the Sahara Desert in April of 2001. The total known weight of all recovered masses is about 1 kilogram. This meteorite is a type of Martian Shergottite called picrite, which is characterized by abundant olivine xenocrysts within a primarily low-Ca pyroxine rock. Following the recovery of this meteorite, a third subgroup of Shergottites was recognized. This is your chance to own your very own substantial piece of the Red Planet! (Custom mount and color description card are included for free.)
