This is a very nice fossil shark tooth. It is a Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth from North Carolina. Megalodon teeth from North Carolina are becoming very scarce, since public fossil collecting was curtailed a few years ago. This specimen came from a major shark tooth collection. The quality of the tooth is simply excellent. The tip and serrations are very well preserved and razor-sharp. The root, too, is in fine shape. The enamel of the tooth is nicely intact and beautifully colored. It is extremely difficult to get a tooth from Aurora, North Carolina of this high quality. This is a very collectible fossil shark tooth from the Lee Creek Mine.
