Now here is a fossil you don't see everyday! This is an unidentified worm from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. Due to political unrest, specimens from this site are difficult to obtain. This specimen is well preserved and exhibits fine detail - there are even traces of contents in the gut! The fossil is wonderfully showcased on the rectangular block of sublithographic limestone that has natural black dendrites outlining the worm. This is a very fine example of a rare Cretaceous worm from the Middle East.
