KILLER, Inflated Ceraurinus marginatus from Canada

Name: Ceraurinus marginatus
Age:  Ordovician
Formation:  Cobourg Formation
Location:  Ontario, Canada
Size: Trilobite is 2.5 inches long
Price: SOLD

Specimen SSA788

Here is a spectacular example of a rare Canadian trilobite. This is Ceraurinus marginatus from the Ordovician Layers of Ontario, Canada. Ceraurinus is much more uncommon than Ceraurus from these layers. This specimen came to us from a MAJOR trilobite collection. The trilobite is extremely inflated and nicely articulated - aesthetically prone and outstretched. The distinct fossil exhibits fabulous detail - the thick shell exoskeleton is beautifully preserved. The trilobite has very nice natural color and contrast, and is wonderfully showcased on the large block of limestone - what a display! If ever a trilobite looked like it could "crawl right off the rock", this is it! This is an extremely collectible and displayable example of this highly uncommon Cheirurid trilobite from a closed locality in Canada.
