This is a very distinct US crinoid. It is a detailed Phanocrinus from Alabama. This fossil was obtained from a major crinoid collection. The crinoid is very 3-dimensional and is very well articulated. The sea lily has great detail preserved on the long arms and cup. There is also anArchimedes bryozoan on the plate. This unusual, corkscrew-shaped bryozoan is only found in the Mississippian of North America! The fossils have great natural coloration and are well showcased on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a very nice display specimen of an uncommon crinoid and Archemedes from Alabama.
