This is a very nice crinoid piece from the Lower Burlington of Missouri. The unusual crinoid is a super, large specimen of Uperocrinus pyriformis. The crinoid is totally inflated and displays great plate structure. The fossil is off-white in color and contrasts well with the orangish-brown matrix. The crinoidal limestone is made up of tiny crinoid fragments! This is a very nice echinoderm specimen from Missouri.
