This is an incredible crinoid fossil. It is a large multiple plate of Traumatocrinus hsuixi from China. This unusual type of crinoid is Triassic in age - very few crinoids are found in the Triassic. There are FOUR large crinoid crowns and MANY arms and stems covering the plate. Most of the crinoid crowns are preserved with long stems, and with the arms splayed open. Imagine how the sea floor bottom must have looked when this garden of ''sea lillies'' was blooming! This amazing slab has the best of both worlds - it is very detailed and it is a nice multiple. This is one of the best multiple plates of Traumatocrinus crinoids we have had. It is an extremely impressive example of this strange Mesozoic crinoid.
