This is a beautiful pair of Libellula doris nymphs from the Miocene of Italy. These large insect nymphs exhibit wonderful detail - the head, body, and legs are all well defined. The bodies of the insects display strong segmentation. The dark brown fossils contrast nicely with the light-colored matrix. The insects are well presented on the natural plate of shale. This is an excellent insect nymph double from the Mediterranean.
