Here is an extremely attractive specimen of a large Alnus Leaf from the Eocene of Canada. The Alnus (Alder) leaf is large and intact right down to the petiole. This leaf also has excellent detail preserved. The plant fossils are well showcased on the natural plate of shale. The dark-colored fossils have excellent contrast with the lighter-colored matrix. This is a fabulous example of an Alder Leaf from the Tranquille Shale of Canada.
