This is a very nice example of a free-floating crinoid. This is Saccocoma pectinata from the world-famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. The crinoid exhibits the small cup and many sinuous, pinnulated arms in beautiful fashion. This comatulid crinoid is wonderfully presented on the somewhat squared plate of lithographic limestone. This is a very aesthetic example of this stemless crinoid from the Jurassic Sea.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
