This is a very pretty fossil leaf. It is a large Allophylus flexifolia from the Green River Formation of Colorado. This leaf has the slightly serrated margins intact, and the primary venation is easily seen. The rounded tip of the leaf is present, and the petiole is still tightly attached to the base of the leaf. The brown leaf contrasts wonderfully with the light khaki-colored matrix. The fossil is almost perfectly centered on the semi-squared plate of shale and displays quite well. This is a fabulous example of Allophylus from Douglas Pass, Colorado.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
