Here is an extremely rare specimen of a strange fossil branch from the Eocene of Canada. It is extremely rare in the fossil record to find so many fronds attached to a branch. This amazing fossil exhibits superb detail. The central shoot and opposite attachment of the individual leaflets are displayed in wonderful fashion. The branch is well showcased on the natural plate of shale that also contains other plant fossils on front and back. The dark-colored fossils have excellent contrast with the lighter-colored matrix. This is a fabulous example of a rare fossil branch from British Columbia.
