Specimen SSA812

Here is a stunning specimen of Morocconites malladoides from the Devonian of Morocco. This fossil was professionally prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This sleek trilobite has an extremely long, free-standing spine extending off the front of the cephalon. This ''Unicorn'' bug is extremely 3-dimensional and well preserved in an outstretched position. The wonderfully articulated trilobite is quite large for the type and exhibits great detail. The classic black color of the fossil is both natural and quite beautiful. The trilobite is wonderfully showcased on the sculpted block of dense limestone. This is a top quality display example of Morocconites - the Unicorn of Trilobites.
