Amazing Geratos Plate with Devil-Horned Cyphaspis

Name: "Devil-Horned" Cyphaspis, Gerastos
Age:  Devonian
Formation:  AM Limestone
Location:  Morocco
Size: Plate is over 7 inches long
Price: SOLD

Specimen SS1053

This is an incredible multiple plate of trilobites from the Devonian of Morocco. There are two faulous ''Devil-Horned'' Cyphaspis on this block of limestone. This amazing fossil was expertly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. You can easily see how these trilobites got their demonic nickname - they have a pair of spiny ''horns'' growing out of their heads. The Cyphaspis have the ''horns'' and stalked eyes prepared free-standing, and even the long genal and axial spines are fully free of matrix.  There are also SIX complete Gerastos granulatus preserved on the plate - EIGHT trilobites in all! All of these bugs are not just complete, they are of excellent quality. The trilobites are all extremely inflated and 3-D and have fabulous detail preserved . The bugs simply display beautifully on the large, sculpted block of dense limestone. And, most amazing of all, all of the trilobites are natural to the plate - none have been composited! This is a spectacular multiple plate - eight trilobites of two different superbly prepared as if they were still alive!
