HUGE, 10-Inch Priscacara - Ready for Framing!

Name: Priscacara serrata
Age:  Eocene
Formation:  Green River Formation
Location:  Kemmerer, Wyoming
Size: Fish is about 10 inches across!
Price: SOLD

Specimen SS1048

This is simply one of the best fossil fish we have ever offered. It is a HUGE Priscacara serrata from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. This classic type is very sought-after because of its recognizable look - similar to a modern-day Bluegill or Crappie. This fossil was extracted under a microscope to reveal the extremely fine detail. The textbook dorsal fin is beautifully displayed on this specimen. The other fins, backbone, tail, and other bones are all intact and very easily seen. The fish is perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of matrix - ready for framing! And, best of all, the fish is about TEN INCHES LONG - the largest specimen of this type we have ever had!  This is one of the largest Priscacara fossil fish ever found, period. (We can have the fish custom framed for an extra $200.)
