Here is a beautiful specimen of Macrostylocrinus ornatus from the Silurian of New York. This crinoid is extremely inflated and exhibits excellent detail. This camerate crinoid has a cup composed of numerous stellate plates. The long, thin, uniserial arms are beautifully splayed in a ''starburst'' form to reveal the numerous pinnules. The cream-colored crinoid contrasts well with the grey matrix plate. The sea lily is nicely presented on the semi-squared block of stone. This is an extremely displayable example of this highly detailed Silurian crinoid.
