This is a very displayable specimen of a fossil gastropod from the Mississippian of Iowa. This gastropod is found in an extremely hard limestone matrix. This specimen has been prepared to showcase the large gastropod on the natural matrix plate. The fossil snail is extremely inflated and 3-dimensional. This is a very nice specimen of an unusual fossil snail from Iowa.
