This is a very unusual crinoid from Morocco. It is a large Caleidocrinus multiramus from the Ordovician Hafalla Sandstone. This crinoid is from the layers that almost exclusively produce brittlestars - complete crinoids are extremely rare. The crinoid has wonderful natural color and excellent contrast. The fossil is extremely inflated and displays beautifully on the large block of sandstone. The crinoid has a long section of stem preserved, which is highly unusual. This is a great example of a rare Ordovician crinoid from Morocco.
