This is a killer fossil shark tooth from a major collection. It is a very large Carcharocles megalodon shark tooth from Aurora, North Carolina. Megalodon teeth from North Carolina are very scarce, since fossil collecting in the Lee Creek Mine was drastically curtailed a few years ago. The quality of this tooth is simply exquisite. The tip and serrations are almost perfectly preserved and razor-sharp. The root, too, is nearly perfect. The enamel of the tooth is fully intact and beautifully colored. And both sides of the tooth display wonderfully. It is extremely difficult to get a tooth from Aurora, North Carolina this large AND of this high quality. This is a VERY collectible fossil shark tooth from the Phosphate Mines of North Carolina.
