Incredible Cretaceous Dragonfly with Great Wing Detail

Name: Cordulagomphus tuberculatus

Location:  Ceara Province, Brazil

This is a rare and beautiful display fossil. It is a fabulous Cordulagomphus tuberculatus dragonfly from the Santana Formation of Brazil. This striking insect lived during the Cretaceous Period, at the same time as the Dinosaurs! This dragonfly has beautiful natural coloration and is VERY detailed. You can even see the large eyes and the segmented abdomen. But the best feature of this fossil is the natural ''lacewing'' pattern that is still preserved in the wings. It is rare in the fossil record to find a fossil dragonfly with wings this detailed. The dragonfly is almost perfectly centered on the large matrix plate. This is an extremely collectible and displayable fossil of a very recognizable type of insect.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
