Specimen SSS935

This is a spectacular trilobite fossil that we just finished preparing. This is a stunning double specimen of Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus from the Devonian of Morocco. These awesome trilobites were microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. The larger, outstretched trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The detail of the trilobite is just amazing - the very small eyes are even seen. The triangular pleurons and the upswept pygidial spines terminate in sharp points, and have been prepared in a free-standing position, as has the entire cephalon! The HUGE hypostoma, or mouthplate, of the trilobite is present and well displayed. The bug has breathtaking natural color and contrast and is beautifully showcased on the block of sculpted limestone that also contains another smaller, complete Cheirurus. This is a very displayable specimen of TWO Cheirurus (Crotalocephalina) gibbus - one of the best double examples of this type ever prepared, period. (This fossil is much more impressive in person than what the pictures show.)

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
