This is a very attractive Canadian crinoid. This is Cupulocrinus humilis from Ontario. This type of crinoid has a somewhat cone-shaped cup composed of large plates and multi-branching, uniserial arms. This crinoid exhibits fine detail - the plate structure is easily seen. The cream-color of the crinoid contrasts wonderfully with the dark grey matrix. The fossil is beautifully showcased on the natural plate of dense limestone (the bottom has been cut so it can be better displayed standing up). This is a very displayable plate of an Ordovician crinoid.
