This is a rare Burlington crinoid. It is a Platycrinites sp. from Ralls County, Missouri. Most crinoids found in the Burlington Formation just have the cup or calyx fossilized - no arms intact. This specimen has ALL the arms preserved, which is very unusual! The crinoid is free of matrix and can be examined from all angles. This is a fine example of a rare, complete crinoid crown from the Burlington Formation.
