This is a fantastic crinoid fossil. It is a huge Traumatocrinus hsuixi from China. This type of crinoid is Triassic in age - very few crinoids are found in the Triassic. This specimen has the best of both worlds - it is large and it is detailed. The crinoid is over 12 inches long with the stem intact, and the crown is a full 9 inches wide. That's one big crinoid! The ''sea lily'' also has extremely fine detail preserved - the pinnules and spikes on the arms are even intact. This is one of the better display crinoids we have had. It is a wonderful example of this huge Mesozoic crinoid.
