Here is an excellent specimen of Caryocrinites milliganae from the Brownsport Formation of Tennessee. This primitive echinoderm has been removed from the surrounding matrix so that it can be viewed from all angles. This large cystoid is extremely inflated and exhibits excellent detail. The plate structure is beautifully defined. Usually, examples of this cystoid are found with some of the plates missing or badly weathered. The thin, ornamented plates of this cystoid are all intact - both sides of the cystoid display well. The arm attachment points are quite evident, and the stem attachment area is easily seen. This is a wonderful example of Caryocrinites milliganae from the Silurian of Tennessee
