This is a very displayable crinoid. It is an excellent specimen of Scyphocrinites sp. from the Silurian of Morocco. This large camerate crinoid has a huge cup composed of many, many plates which are extremely stellate in appearance. The long, multi-branching, uniserial arms are beautifully displayed. A portion of the round stem is still intact. The greyish color of the crinoid contrasts well with the reddish-brown matrix. The sea lily is wonderfully centered on the rounded plate of limestone. This is a spectacular example of this very distinct crinoid from the Silurian.
