Extremely Spiny Comura and Phacops Double

Name: Comura sp., Phacops speculator
Age:  Devonian
Formation:  AM Limestone
Location:  Morocco
Size: Comura is almost 3 inches long
Price: SOLD

Specimen SS123

This is a one-of-a-kind trilobite fossil. There is a spiny Comura sp. and a complete Phacops speculator preserved on the same rock! This pair of trilobites required meticulous preparation under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab (it takes longer to prepare a Comura than almost any other trilobite in the world.). Comura is one of the most spiny and most prized trilobite in the world. This distinctive specimen boasts over 40 free-standing spines, and the famous four-pronged snout is fully intact. The long genal, pleural, and pygidial spines are also beautifully preserved. The detail is excellent, and the natural coloration is strikingly beautiful. And again, just look at those spines! But that's not all - there is also a large Phacops fossilized on the limestone block! This is definitely one of the largest and best quality Comura we have had. And the fact that it is captured forever on the same rock as a Phacops is simply unbelieveable.
