This is a highly collectible fossil shark tooth from Aurora. It is an outstanding Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the famous Lee Creek Mine of North Carolina. Megalodon teeth from North Carolina are quite scarce, since public fossil collecting was curtailed a few years ago. This tooth is robust and has a very solid and substantial root. The tip and serrations are near-perfectly preserved and razor-sharp. Except for a small ding near the root, the enamel of the tooth is fully intact and has gorgeous coloration. The classic shape of the tooth is clearly defined, and both sides of the tooth display beautifully. This is a top-quality tooth that we recently obtained from a major collection.
