This is simply a beautiful fossil shark tooth. It is a very large Carcharocles megalodon (Extinct Giant White Shark) tooth from the Atacama Desert of Chile. This specimen is large and impressive - five and a half inches long! The tooth is naturally embedded in a large block of solid, pebbled sandstone - the tooth sits over four inches high on its natural stone base. The tooth itself is wonderfully preserved and displays beautifully. The color and detail are exquisite. And, wow, just look at those serrations! Not only is this a large, colorful fossil shark tooth, it is a sharply serrated tooth preserved in a solid block of rock. You can't get much more collectible than that!
