This is a great plate of vertebrate fossils from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. On the left side of the plate is a nice example of Knightia humilis. This fish is complete and exhibits fine detail - the bone structure is clearly defined. A large Crocodile tooth is on the right side of the slab. Crocodile teeth are quite uncommon from the Green River Formation. This tooth is very 3-dimensional, and the shiny enamel of the tooth is well preserved. The tip of the robust tooth shows a distinct amount of natural wear. The fossils have wonderful color and contrast and are beautifully presented on the rectangular plate of shale. And best of all, both specimens are completely natural to the slab - they have not been composited. This is an excellent association plate of two different vertebrate fossils from the Eocene.
