This is a great dinosaur fossil. It is a beautifully preserved Edmontosaurus hoof from the Cretaceous of South Dakota. Edmontosaurus is one of the classic hadrosaurs, or ''duckbilled'' dinosaurs. This hoof has great form and the structure of the 3-dimensional bone is wonderfully displayed. It is still encased in ite origial matrix block, which is extremely unusual. Although the hoof has been professionally repaired (normal), this claw has absolutely NO RESTORATION whatsoever. This is a top quality example of a complete hoof from this Cretaceous plant-eating dinosaur
