Here is a very impressive crinoid. This is Scyphocrinites sp. from the Silurian of Morocco. This large camerate crinoid is extremely inflated and has a huge cup composed of many, many stellate plates. The extremely long, multi-branching arms are uniserial in nature and beautifully display the fine pinnules. The dark grey crinoid contrasts wonderfully with the reddish matrix and is well centered on the large plate of limestone that also contains many crinoid parts. This is a very large, displayable example of Scyphocrinites from Morocco.
