This is a very rare fossil leaf. It is a gorgeous Ginkgo digitata leaf from the Eocene of Canada. This leaf is extremely dissected with many individual lobes and has dichotomous venation. The large leaf exhibits wonderful detail. The lobes of the leaf are intact and beautifully displayed, and the venation is easily seen. The leaf has excellent color and contrast and is well centered on the natural plate of shale that also contains a deciduous leaf. This is, perhaps, the most outstanding Ginkgo leaf we have ever seen.
