Here is a very pretty echinoderm. This is a free-floating crinoid from the world-famous Solnhofen Limestone of Germany. This stemless, comatulid crinoid has been darkened to make for a better display. The crinoid exhibits the small cup and nine sinuous, pinnulated arms. The fossil is well positioned on the somewhat oval plate of lithographic limestone. This is an attractive specimen of an unusual floating crinoid from the Jurassic.
