This is a beautiful tooth that we recently obtained from a major shark tooth collection. It is a Carcharocles megalodon tooth from the Miocene of North Carolina. Extinct Giant White shark teeth from North Carolina are becoming very scarce, since public fossil collecting was curtailed a few years ago. The classic shape of the shark tooth is quite evident, and the root is very solid and substantial. The razor-sharp serrations are beautifully displayed, and the very tip of the tooth is in excellent condition. The shiny enamel is wonderfully preserved on both sides of the tooth and has outstanding natural color. This is a striking shark tooth from the famous Lee Creek Mine.
