This is a wonderful example of a meteorite, an ancient chunk of outer space. This iron meteorite is a rare witnessed and documented fall - it fell to Earth in the year 1516 in Nantan, China. This meteorite contains 92% iron, 7% nickel, and other trace elements. This large specimen exhibits great detail - the convoluted surface of the meteorite is beautifully displayed. This ''shooting star'' is an interesting relic of the history of the universe. What a conversation piece!
