This is a very detailed Scyphocrinites sp. from the Silurian of Morocco. This type of Camerate crinoid has a large cup composed of many, many stellate plates and long arms that branch many times. This specimen shows the highly ornamented plates and the branching pattern of the arms in fine fashion. The gray crinoid contrasts nicely with the red-brown matrix. The crinoid is nicely presented on the natural plate of limestone that contains many other crinoid stems. This is a fine specimen of this ornate crinoid from Morocco.
