This is a great fossil plant from an exotic location. It is a Sandinopsis sp. from the Cretaceous of Lebanon. This palm-like plant has three, very distinct, long lobes that terminate in sharp points. The entire margins of the lobes are wonderfully displayed, and the extremely stout petiole is easily seen. The fossil plant has outstanding, natural color and contrast and is well centered on the somewhat rectangular plate of sublithographic limestone. This is a fine example of this tropical-looking plant from the time of the dinosaurs.
